Customer Service Consulting Engineer

Installs, troubleshoots, and maintains STORServer products/equipment. Provides periodic training engagements for both customers and Customer Service team members on products and services within identified skill sets.

Identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures. Orders and replaces parts as needed. Determines and recommends which products or services best fit the customers' needs.

Requires a bachelor's degree and 5-10 years of experience in a combination of backup/archive, STORServer, and TSM related areas; or equivalent education and experience. Familiarity with a variety of the STORServer’s concepts, practices, and procedures is very helpful.

Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks associated with all areas of customer service. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be a significant contributor/specialist in TSM or STORServer products.

Reports to a manager or head of a unit/department; this position will include other duties as assigned.

Further Details:
Provide installation and consulting services for STORServer customers
  • Work with customers to install sold products, including TSM based STORServer appliances, and other STORServer products
  • Work with customers to install various TSM clients (ie, Windows, Network, Unix etc.), agents, and add-on products to existing STORServer accounts 
  • Services will include both travel and remote installation and consulting engagements that will require airline bookings throughout the United States
Provide technical support to customers
  • Provide technical phone and online support for STORServer customers using the STORServer products
  • Track ongoing support calls, responding in a timely manner according to STORServer Customer Service goals and objectives
  • Take rotation turns at week-long (7-day) “Primary” and “Active” support roles, which includes such functions as dispatching calls and coordinating all support for all levels of appliance and software customers
Provide technical training to customers
  • Teach intro level courses for STORServer customers using STORServer developed materials
  • Contribute to revisions of technical training materials
Contribute technical articles to knowledge base
  • Develop and write technical problem/ solution articles for STORServer Knowledge base to be used for internal and external customers
Location:

Work from a home-based lab, travel up to 50% of the workdays in a month, and make periodic meetings at STORServer headquarters in Colorado Springs.
